And now for Something Completely Different. Not a ramble. A Guided Walk around historic Oakhill Village, Somerset. Limited to 18 people. It will not take place if it is pouring with rain.
We will leave at 10.15am to have a guided tour of the sights of Oakhill Village.
The area is known for its former brewery, maltings and its own narrow gauge railway which connected to the Somerset & Dorset railway. We will visit the area known as Little London and find out about the manufacture of stockings (woollen) and Oakhill Invalid Stout. Is there a connection ?
Coffee at Oakleaf Café before the start. Possibly at half time also. The walk will finish about 12.30pm, followed by a pub lunch option at the Horse and Jockey, Binegar. A traditional Somerset country pub, if you wish to join us. No steep bits, mud or stiles.
Please TEXT the walk leader to book a place. Please book by text, stating yes or no to lunch. An easy walk. The route may vary depending upon weather and ground conditions. Dogs welcome. On leads at all times.
