We are the Exeter and District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Out of the car park we cross the clapper bridge and walk east to Pizwell Farm, and then north to Runnage Bridge. Here we enter the forest and walk east to Soussons Farm, then through fields to Challacombe Farm and the medieval hamlet. We continue along the east side of ChallacombeDown to Headland Warren Farm, and then visit the triple stone row at the north end of the Down. After descending to Vitifer Mine, we head south to revisit the forest before turning west back to Postbridge via Lower Merripit. The route is relatively flat along forest and moorland tracks with short sections of quiet lanes.
