The walk starts from the parking area near the Two Crosses Stone, from where there are views of Honeybag Tor, Chinkwell Tor, and Haytor Rocks. We will visit the summit of Wind Tor, from where there are fine views of Rippon Tor, Saddle Tor, before walking to Drywells cross and examine an interesting nearby mystery stone. Drywells Cross has had an interesting history, probably being located on a church path to Widecombe and it was restored by the Dartmoor Preservation Association in 1967. We will pass Dockwell, before visiting the interesting disused Hutholes medieval village, and as we return to our cars there are fine views of Corndon Tor.
We will probably visit a pub/café after the walk.
Please book with John Howell for the walk and if interested in food after the walk.
In association with Dartmoor Preservation Association.
If you would like to join this walk, please book with the leader, preferably by email, so that they can inform you of any late changes to arrangements.
