This walk is taken from an excellent book entitled ‘The Land of Towers’ by Richard Wallis. It is a collection of twenty country walks in the Frome, Shepton Mallet and Warminster area with at least one of three towers – Alfred’s, Cranmore and Ammerdown – visible on each walk. The blurb says ‘a pleasant walk through fields and woodland belonging to the Longleat Estate, but except for Shearwater, visits lesser known parts’. It is January so expect some mud, and Three Ash Lane can be a bit of a rat-run. Bring snack.
Please note: the Finish time is an estimate and may vary.
