This walk is based around Staithes but parking can be difficult so park in the lay-by near Boulby Mine.
From the Lay-by we head up to Boulby using the Cleveland Way. We follow the path along past Boulby and then turn left heading towards a mast and then across fields. We cross the A174 and head into Twizzigill Farm and follow the path out of the farm to the railway crossing. We cross the railway into Mines wood past some old mine workings and then come out of the woodland onto minor roads through Dalehouse and head towards Staithes via field and woodland paths. We again cross the A174, this time using using the Pelican crossing and head down into Staithes, over the footbridge and up out of the village back to the lay-by.
Please be aware that some of the walk is adjacent to high cliff edges, so take care to keep to the path. Parts of the walk are quite steep, but we are rewarded with some great views (weather dependent as always). For those walkers who like to use poles don't forget to bring them. Near the end of the walk Staithes has toilet facilities which I think should still be open when we get there.
There will be a ten minute break. Please feel free to bring a drink/snack to enjoy.
Assistance dogs only.
