We all have busy lives and some of us cannot afford to spend all day out Rambling so I am aiming to do Afternoon Rambles during the spring , summer and autumn so you have the morning free. There will be no lunch break but if I find an open public toilet - I will stop.
A varied section of the Capital Ring Walk following green corridors through north-west London. From Hendon Central Station the route soon reaches the open waters of the Welsh Harp Reservoir (Brent Reservoir), an important nature reserve with good views across the lake. The walk continues through parkland into the attractive green spaces of Harrow and Horsenden Hill through meadows and recreation grounds. Mostly level walking on park paths and footpaths with several opportunities to shorten the walk using nearby stations.
Use Contactless or Oyster - within Freedom Pass and Oyster 60+ zone
Use TFL Planner to ensure you arrive on time
The walk will be at a brisk pace ( 2 to 2.5 miles per hour) especially in view of the length of the walk and then need to finish before sunset
No booking required. No need to email or text- just turn up.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
