Overview

Starting at Alexandra Palace Train station, we will be walking through Alexandra Palace for the view before going through the undergrowth of Parkland Walk via Highgate and Queen's Wood. Taking a stop for lunch at Finsbury Park, we will walk alongside the new river to Woodberry Wetlands before heading onto Clissold Park. After cutting across the park, I will take you through Abney Park Cemetary before finishing the walk at Stoke Newington Train Station.

Estimated finish time:
4:00 pm
Difficulty:
Leisurely
Distance:
15.8km / 9.8mi
Ascent:
168.9m / 554ft
Type:
linear

There will be muddy sections but terrain will be fairly flat with sharp inclines between Queen's Wood and the section from Highgate Finsbury Park. Poles shouldn't be required though.

Though there is a cafe at Finsbury Park, service is traditionally relaxed and busy so please bring own lunch. Trains between Stoke Newington and London Liverpool Street are every 20 minutes but please check national rail timetables in event of any late changes to the timetables. Plenty of bus routes available. There will be the option to have a drink at the end of the walk as well.

Please note that most of the walk is dog-friendly but as Woodberry Wetlands does not allow dogs, I can provide an alternative route to rejoin the group to pick up the walk to Clissold Park.
