This is a 9 mile circular walk from Settrington which was mentioned in the Doomsday Book and is a village nestling below the northern end of the Yorkshire Wolds. Some quietish road stretches are included but the undulating route generally entails good tracks and fields with a few stiles, and follows sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Centenary Way. On a sunny day - the views are magnificent. We head up to Settrington Beacon and continue the route down to North Grimston, returning via farmland and road, back to Settrington.
Please note the earlier start of 0930 so that we can reach the tearoom before it closes.
A booking has been made for The Whole Hogg Farm Shop and Tea Room at Howe Bridge Farm, Low Marishes, Malton YO17 6RQ off the A169 towards Pickering which is about 10 minutes by car from Settrington.
There are no toilet facilities at Settrington and I am awaiting confirmation to park in the Village Hall carpark.
