Overview

A walk that truly rewards those who take some significant hill climbs in their stride, delivering breathtaking coast and estuary views in return. We depart from Ayrmer Cove car park, heading down Smugglers’ Lane to the cove itself where we encounter our first hill and join South West Coast Path. We enjoy incredible sea views as we head to Challaborough, with the opportunity to look across to Burgh Island. Our walk then leads us to Bigbury-on-Sea and beyond with our views changing from coast to estuary via the Avon Estuary Walk path. This is a walk with the steep ascents and descents generally associated with a coastal walk and there is a short stretch of road walking.
