Overview

A delightful winter wander through woods, steep sided valleys, riversides, villages and fields around the enormous working quarry of Whatley.  From Nunney to go first to Chantry and around the quarry to Mells where we will have an optional visit to the cafe.  Return via the Wadbury Valley, full of industrial archaeology, Fordbury Water and Nunney Combe.
300m of climb make this a good blow, and combined with inevitable mud, mean a walking pole is advised.  Bring lunch and coffee if you don't want to visit the cafe.
