A lovely, moderately paced walk on undulating terrain. Much of the route is through open fields with many breathtaking views, interspersed with woodland paths and farm tracks. Other significant attractions include interesting churches and picturesque villages.
A few fast roads to cross. Expect mud in places. 1 ‘tricky’ stile.
Train: Marylebone 9.27, Harrow on the Hill 9.39 (Chiltern Railways train to Aylesbury Vale Parkway) arriving Amersham 10.02. Buy return to Great Missenden. Freedom Pass holders travel free to Amersham and will only need a single from Great Missenden to Amersham for the return journey.
Lunch: Brief drink and toilet stop at Penn Street. Picnic at Little Missenden with drinks & toilets available at pub.
