Overview

A mix of rural and urban walking in the historic Medway Valley, following paths along the river and on the valley sides.  Clear, easy paths with some gentle climbs, although terrain can be marshy and muddy.  Views of and from the river.  Locks, weirs, medieval bridges, historic buildings, and a glimpse of a castle.  Opt out possible from Maidstone stations at lunchtime. Pace will be moderate; there will be occasional stops at points of interest.
