Overview

Description: A brisk and hilly walk passing through woodland, then descending into hidden vales and fields before emerging out onto the Chiltern escarpment at a spot that commands panoramic views of the countryside below. There are several stiles that some walkers may find challenging and some uneven paths.  There are steep slopes at Pulpit, Whiteleaf and Coombe Hills.

Train: London Marylebone 9:27; Amersham 10:03; (Aylesbury Vale Parkway train).  Buy return to Wendover. Freedom pass holders buy return from Amersham.

Lunch: picnic on grass on Whiteleaf Hill - no facilities.

Toilet: there are toilet facilities at Wendover station but they are not always open. Please use toilets on the train. Comfort stops on the walk will be al fresco.
