This scenic circular walk begins and ends at Richmond Station, combining riverside paths, historic landmarks, and picturesque green spaces.
We begin by passing the remains of Richmond Palace, then join the River Thames, walking alongside the famous Petersham Meadows. Continuing along the towpath, we pass the grand Ham House before crossing the river via the Teddington Footbridge.
From there, we follow the river back on the Twickenham side, taking in interesting views and local landmarks such as Eel Pie Island and the beautiful York House Gardens. We’ll pause for a short break at Orleans House, with the option to visit the small (free) gallery before continuing the final stretch back to Richmond Station.
A gentle and varied walk, rich with riverside scenery and local history.
