We pick up the route at Battersea Power Station where we finished the last section. The walk continues along the Thames Path past Battersea Park and on to Wandsworth, where the Wandle Trail finishes. The walk will mainly follow the Wandle Trail from Wandsworth southwards, with a few deviations from the trail to Carshalton Beeches Railway station.
The walk is predominately urban with a few green spaces including Morden Hall Park. The terrain is a mixture of paved and tarmac paths, with a couple of opportunities for mud if there is rain between the recce and the walk. The walk is predominately flat but the pace will be brisk to enable us to complete the walk in daylight hours.
There are multiple exit points until Morden Hall Park, but limited after the Park.
Lunch will be in Morden Hall Park where there is a small National Trust Cafe, but please bring a picnic as we will not have time for a long lunch break.
Toilets are available at Battersea Power Station, Wandsworth Southside shopping centre, Morden Hall Park and Carshalton Beeches Station if the station is manned. There should also be toilets on the train back to London.
Travel: Arrive Battersea Power Station (Northen Line) in time for start of walk.
Return trains from Carshalton Beeches to Victoria (trains stop at Clapham Junction) at 54 and 24 minutes past the hour and London Bridge at 29 and 59 minutes past the hour.
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as the weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
