An undulating walk through the fields, woods and lanes of the Eden Valley and High Weald. There are a couple of short steep climbs on the way to Penshurst Place. There are 50 acres of grounds at Penshurst; in the flower garden rooms we hope to see the peony border in bloom as well as rambling roses, and herbaceous perennials. Further afield visit the trout lake, arboretum and lake park. Expect to have about 2 hours in the garden. The afternoon walk is about three miles on to Leigh Station.
Entry to the garden at Penshurst in £13. RHS members go free, and Gardeners World 241 is accepted.
Lunch is a fairly late picnic or cafe at Penshurst Place. Cafe and toilets are outside the garden.
