A winter walk through the Walthamstow wetlands and along the Lea Navigation. The wetlands is one of the largest urban wetland nature reserves in Europe and is serves as a byway for migrating, wintering and breeding birds. We also visit Markfield Park, Springfield Park and Abney Park at the end of the walk. Abney Park is one of London's Seven Magnificent cemeteries.
The walk will be at a moderate to brisk pace. It may be muddy in places. The Wetlands can have strong winds because of the funnelling effect of the banks of the reserviors.
No dogs are allowed in the wetlands.
