Join us for a pleasant ramble from Witley to Haslemere along the Greensand Way, including the circumambulation (if that's a word...) of the Devil's Punchbowl. The walk will be brisk (2.5-3 miles/hour) and mostly gently undulating, but with a few steeper sections - and depending on the weather may be muddy (so you may want to wear gaiters and/or bring poles if you use them).
Leaving Witley, we head through a mix of woodland, open countryside and farmland towards the village of Thursley, from where we head South towards Hindhead Commons and its crowning glory, the Devil's Punchbowl, which should afford fantastic views. We will stop for a relatively late lunch here (maybe 1-1:30pm) so please have a decent breakfast (we will stop for a quick snack break earlier). The Devil's Punchbowl is too perfect a lunch stop but annoyingly does not sit in the middle of the walk. As compensation, there is a National Trust cafe for hot drinks and toilets, but please bring a packed lunch (there are picnic benches).
At the end of the walk, for those that wish to stay on for a drink, there is an option to stop off at The White Horse pub on Haslemere High Street.
