Overview

Starting from the café at Seaton Hole steps we make our way down to the beach, walk along the shoreline until we reach Seaton Esplanade, continue to Axmouth Harbour, crossing to the South West Coast path via Axmouth Old Bridge (the oldest concrete bridge in England) follow Barn Close Lane to a short stretch of Steps Road, footpaths to Higher Lane and explore features of Axmouth, with optional pub, then make use of the viewing platform for bird watching the Wetlands, return via the pavement on Axmouth Road parallel to the Axe water’s edge, pass through Seaton to return to Seaton Hole via the cliff top and footpath down to the start.

It is possible to get to Seaton Hole by bus and walk a shortish distance from Seaton on the 9A from the Exeter Bus Station, taking 1.5 hours or meet the walking group in Seaton, shortening the walk by avoiding Seaton Hole beach section!
