Overview

We begin by visiting the motte-and-bailey Heywood castle at the northern end of the woods. We then head to Labdon Bridge from where we leave the woods and using paths and lanes, we pass by Lower Bransgrove and on to Wembworthy. After that, we follow a path above Haynes Valley to return to the woods at Flashdown Plantation, home to the first trees planted by the Forestry Commission in 1919. Return to the CP.
