An undulating walk through pasture, woodland and lanes with plenty of views and hopefully some late autumn colour. There are some stiles and the terrain is sometimes challenging underfoot, expect patches of mud and one long climb. We walk to Wakehurst Place and its 500 acres of diverse landscapes and then return on similar terrain to Balcombe.
Entry to Wakehurst is free to Kew and National Trust members, and £8.25 for those travelling on public transport.
There are no toilets before Wakehurst.
Lunch: is an extended break at Wakehurst, there are cafes inside and outside the boundary and there are plenty of places to eat a picnic.
Train: London Bridge 10:05; East Croydon 10:19; Arr 10:46.
Please note: many factors can affect how long a walk takes and the finish time given is an estimate only.
