Overview

The walk is through the beautiful and peaceful Kirkdale, starting at the Anglo Saxon church of St Gregory's Minster.  We walk the length of Kirkdale on the East side, to Sleightholme Dale Lodge.  The return is on the West side of the Dale via Skiplam Grange .  The walk is through woodland and meadows, mostly on good footpaths and tracks.  There are a couple of stretches of quiet road walking. There are a number of ascents and descents into and out of the valley. Parts may be muddy if it has rained recently.
