Overview

A lovely long summer walk in the Yorkshire Dales.

Starting at the beautiful village of Arncliffe in Littondale we join the Monks Road to commence the climb up to the tarn. This walk is on good tracks with great views to the North finally passing the remains of a fort on Great Close Hill as we reach the tarn. Malham Tarn is one of the highest lakes in England at 1240 ft.

We then descend to the small hamlet of Hawkswick and follow the road back to Arncliffe.
