Overview

We will follow the Two Moors Way, to Hookney Tor and then visit the iconic Bronze Age village Grimspound. From there the walk will be via Firth Bridge, Headland Warren Farm and Challacombe, passing evidence of strip farming and the remains of a Medieval village. We will then see the remains of two tin mines, the Vitifer Mine and the Golden Dagger Mine, both have interesting histories. We will then ascend past the Warren House Inn, to the Water Hill cairn, with extensive views, where you could sit in King Arthur's seat. We will then visit one of the best preserved double stone rows on Dartmoor, on Hurston Ridge, from which we will then return to the car park using the Two Moors Way.
