Overview

From the car park at the entrance to the Kynren complex we descend to and cross over the River Wear. We then proceed along ‘The Batts’  taking the footpath to join the railway path past Binchester and on to Old Park Terrace. We then follow Hagg Lane to Whitworth Lane which we follow down to Page Bank Bridge, turning west to follow the Weardale Way track along the banks of the Wear. A short steep climb up some steps brings us onto the old Bishop Auckland railway path back to the start. The majority of the walk is on railway/riverside paths, with a few midest climbs with a few stiles.
