Overview

Walk in association with Dartmoor Preservation Association.
The walk will start with a steepish ascent for around 600metres using the Sticklepath Track, through Sticklepath wood, before we head west and descend to Double Waters, where the Tavy and Walkham meet, Buckator, and then walking beside the beautiful River Walkham back to Grenofen Bridge. The route is on some stony tracks and woodland paths beside the river. Along the way we will pass the remains of several mines including Wheel Virtuous Lady, the West Down mine chimney and we will see some elvan dikes, harder rocks, which create a series of waterfalls in the river.
After the walk the plan will be to visit a local pub/café for drink/food. Details will be provided when booking is made for the walk.
