Overview

The walk is just over 6 and a half miles and has about 290 metres of ascent and descent. We first explore the Country Park, starting near the site of the Normanby Brickworks, along to the site of Ormesby Brickworks, up Godfalter Hill and along to a viewpoint. We then go through Great West Plantation and along Crabtree Walk. We cross Flatts Lane with care and pass through Quarry Plantation and Claphams Wood before ascending up to Eston Moor. We go past Carr Pond and down to the car park. A good proportion of the walk is on good paths and tracks through woodland, moorland and a few fields. Some of the forest paths and the track near Carr Pond are likely to be quite muddy, given recent weather conditions. There are just a handful of stiles, although a couple are a little tricky.
