This is a demanding and yet rewarding circular walk that explores the rolling countryside along the Surrey–West Sussex border, combining wooded commons, quiet villages and expansive ridge-top views. It is a hilly and long walk.
Leaving Haslemere, the route climbs towards Camelsdale before heading south into increasingly rural terrain. The suburban edges quickly give way to open fields and woodland tracks, with wide views unfolding across the Low Weald.
From Kingsley Green the path undulates towards Fernhurst, then the walk becomes more secluded, threading through farmland and woodland near Henley and across quiet lanes towards Lurgashall.
The terrain here is gently rolling but steady underfoot, contributing to the cumulative ascent of the day.
Turning north, the route crosses remote countryside and wooded commons before re-entering Surrey near Inchmere. The final stretch provides a peaceful woodland return, gradually leading back into Haslemere.
This is a varied circuit for fit walkers, comfortable with distance and steady climbing. It offers a fine blend of Surrey heathland and Sussex pastoral charm.
Walking poles might be advisable and proper footwear.
We will stop for lunch around middle of the walk, bring a packed lunch.
