Meet outside Mitcham Junction station. Exit through the tickety office on Platform 1. If you come by train from London, you will arrive on Platform 1.
Toilets: Mitcham Junction has just one toilet, only accessible with a Radar key (I have a Radar key if required) so I recommend using toilets on the train to avoid a queue. We will also pass a few toilets on the walk.
The walk will take us over part of Mitcham Common, then past the Beddington nature reserve and into Beddington Park. We will continue to Carshalton with its ponds. From there we will find the River Wandle and stay beside it most of the way to Earlsfield. We will pass Colliers Wood underground station where you can drop out if you choose.
This walk is hill-free but mostly on hard surfaces. We will aim for a pace of 3mph.
Lunch will be in Morden Hall Park, eight miles into the walk, around 1:30pm. There is a café but it will probably be closed so a picnic lunch is recommended.
Drop out points:
- After 8 miles: Morden Hall Park - walk eight minutes to Morden Underground station (Northern Line)
- After 9.5 miles: Colliers Wood Underground station (Northern Line): we will pass this.
This walk is not suitable for dogs.
