Join me in a visit to the Oxo Street Gallery (Oxo Tower Wharf, South Bank) to see street photographer, Steve Hollingshead's "1001 days in London" exhibition on Sunday at 11 am (free entry). Through his photography Steve aims to capture the diverse aspects of everyday life that characterise post millenium London. The 1001 individual photographs provide a chronical of "London's vibrant, multi-cultural, creative street life, reminding us in the words of MP Jo Cox, that we have more in common than that which divides us". Each photo captures moments, or memories, that mark time covering the first 20 years of the 21st century. You will recognise some events, marvel at others and wonder how you managed to miss the rest.
Following the expo we will head off for a walk along the Thames, crossing to the North Bank at London Bridge and passing many familiar sights: Tower Bridge, Wapping, Lime House Basin.
The walk will finish after 5 miles at Canary Wharf for most, and for the lucky 10 that have secured a reservation for late lunch (now fully booked) we will walk that extra mile to the Space Bar, a quirky bar & kitchen, once the vestry of St Paul's church on the Isle of Dogs.
There are many exit points along the way. We won't be stopping for a lunch break. It should take approx 2 hours to Canary Wharf where you will find an array of cafes and restaurants to meet your needs.
There are no official public toilet stops along the way.
