Time to capture a ‘spring in our feet’.
We start at Beckenham Hill Train Station making our way through Beckenham Place Park and through its wooded area for a display of bluebells. Thereafter, we join the Green Chain Walk - (GCW section 9A), then follow the Greenwich Meridian Trail (GMT) to Martin’s Hill, which offers outstanding views of the countryside beyond Bromley.
The final section of this trail takes us to Bromley High Street and to Bromley South Railway Station. Trains go from here to London Victoria and London Blackfriars and towards Orpington, Swanley and Sevenoaks.
Take the 18:16 train (Platform 1) from London Blackfriars (Elephant & Castle 18:20; Peckham Rye 18:31; Catford 18:40), which arrives at Beckenham Hill 18: 47.
Or the 18:09 Hayes (Kent) train from London Charing Cross; London Bridge 18:18 to Catford Bridge 18:30 and then walk across to Catford for the above 18:40 train.
Use Contactless/Oyster, 60+ Oyster/Freedom Pass for the start and end stations.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, any unforeseen diversion, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
