The Three Forests Way is a circular walk connecting the three Essex forests; Epping Forest, Hatfield Forest and Hainault Forest. Created by the West Essex Ramblers in 1977, this way covers almost 60 miles of Essex, an often underrated county by walkers.
We begin this six part series at Loughton and will quickly enter Epping Forest passing through High Beach as we walk towards Upshire. We continue through countryside towards Epping Green and Epping Upland before returning to Epping. I can almost certainly promise mud, a tea hut and glorious Essex scenery.
Please bring a packed lunch as we will be passing the Tea Hut at High Beach too early for lunch and will stop further along our journey. However we will stop there for hot drinks and cake!
The finish time is an estimate and dependent upon the size and speed of the groups, weather and footpath conditions and the number of breaks taken.
Much of our route today is on firm rides through Epping Forest however there were some damp patches at the time of the recce walk following heavy rain. Please be prepared for damp conditions underfoot.
