Area name: East Yorkshire & Derwent
Our predominantly rural area includes the land from York to the east coast, and from the Humber up to the North York Moors National Park. "Derwent" refers to that southern part of North Yorkshire and western part of East Yorkshire. We help both local people and visitors to enjoy walking in our beautiful locality.
We actively protect places we all love to walk by looking after rights of way and green spaces. Importantly we act as the leading voice on walking matters near you. As well as supporting our local groups to organise their regular led walks we also arrange weekly afternoon walks and monthly 'pub lunch walks'.
So our aim is to provide a variety of walks to cater for all abilities and experiences.
This is a great way to enjoy the countryside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness.

Our Group's area stretches from Hull through the vast Holderness plain and then north on East Yorkshire's long coastline from spectacular Spurn Point to Bridlington.
Pocklington is the Gateway to the outstanding Yorkshire Wolds. We help protect those places we love to walk. Locals and visitors are welcome to walk with us and feel the physical and social benefits.
Our geographical area takes in an exciting mixture of scenic countryside. Spoilt for choice, there is Vale of Pickering, Yorkshire Wolds, Howardian Hills and the North York Moors National Park.
Walkers in our Scarborough area are rewarded with varied countryside, good paths along the tops of soaring sea cliffs, dramatic heather moors of the national park, plus peaceful pastoral and woodland.
We organise a variety of walks across North and East Yorkshire, in the Dales and to the coast. There is one to suit you, so join us and experience the benefits of walking.
